Pulse Beam
Tutorial from: http://www.bluesfear.com/tutorials/pulsebeam.php
This is a cool effect that can be created in Photoshop. I used PS 7, but it can be done in any version. Yes I do need to upgrade. Any way on to the tutorial.
1) Open a new window, make the size 800×600, with an background color. Mine will be blackish blue.
| 2) | Select the Rectangle Marquee Tool and make a 1 pixel width line. Make sure the line is on a seperate layer then the background. |

3) Go to FILTER > DISTORT > TWIRL and set the angle to 35. It should look like this.

4) Go to EDIT > TRANSFORM > ROTATE and rotate it about 30-45 degress.
5) Next go to EDIT > TRANSFORM > Perspective. Make the top very small and the bottom very large.

| 6) | Now go to LAYER > LAYER SYTLE > OUTER GLOW and give it a cool glow. Heres what I did, but you can choose other settings. |

7) The final result should look something like this.

Then you can take this and add it to your next wallpaper to get something like this.
